The Music ministry program plays a very important role in
the Church. Music encourages a conscious and active participation
from the assembly during liturgical celebrations so that we
can more fully recognize ourselves as the "Body of Christ."
Our music ministry is very active in the pastoral life of
the community as well as supporting the prison ministry, faith
formation program, and those celebrating the sacraments of
the church. We are thankful for the many opportunities to
minister to this community through our gifts of music. We
invite you to share your musical gifts with the Catholic Community
of Pleasanton.

Adult Choir
The adult choir is open to high-school-age singers and above.
The choir ministers at liturgy every Sunday, from September
through June, including Christmas, Easter, and other special
liturgical celebrations. The choir is also involved in community,
civic, and diocesan events on a seasonal basis. Some vocal
experience is helpful. Practice are currently held on Tuesday
evenings at 7:00.
Children's Choir
The children's choir is currently open to boys and girls,
3rd through 9th grade. This choir ministers at liturgy every
Sunday at the 4 p.m. Mass at St. Elizabeth Seton, from September
through June, including special celebrations during Christmas
and Easter and occasionally singing with the adult choir.
A comfort with singing is helpful. Rehearsals are currently
on Thursdays in the late afternoon but can change as holiday,
vacation or scheduling needs allow.
Sunday Evening Ensemble
This modern, energetic music ministry is open to young men
and women, preferably ages 15 to 30. This group includes vocal
ministers as well as instrumentalists. This ensemble ministers
at the 6:30 p.m. Sunday liturgy. Interested people should
be prepared for a fast-paced, modern approach to liturgical
music, and should have basic musical experience as well as
an eagerness to learn. Rehearsals are currently Sunday afternoons
from 4:30 to 6:30.

Cantor Ministry
A cantor is present at all liturgical celebrations with music.
Just as the priest leads us in prayer, the cantor leads us
in prayer through music. The cantor serves as both musician
and prayer leader and must, therefore, be comfortable in both
roles. The cantor's main responsibility is to support the
assembly's "full, active, and conscious" participation
during our liturgical celebrations. Cantors minister at all
Sunday liturgies and seasonal celebrations, as well as weddings,
funerals, and other church-related events. Cantors should
have strong vocal skills and confident leadership skills.
Rehearsals are currently at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
