Adult Faith Formation Opportunities

Waiting for Jesus

For us Advent is a time of waiting for Jesus. For Mary and Joseph and also for Jesus!-- this was a time of waiting, too. Each experienced this waiting from a different perspective. Staff member Jim Silva will explore these three different perspectives through prayer, reflection, and ritual. Wednesday evenings, 7:30-9:00 p.m., St. Elizabeth Seton Chapel, December 5, 12, and 19.

January Adult Education Series

Mark your calendars . . . Jan 8-10, 15-17, 22-24. Similar to last year, we will offer exciting workshops covering a variety of topics. The faith formation sessions of our children will be suspended in order that parents and all adults in the parish may take advantage of many opportunities to deepen prayer life, learn more about the faith, have questions answered, and expiore more deeply the journey of faith!

Stress Reduction

Life was already full of stress, and then came September 11 and the recession. Fortunately, we can reduce stress significantly by learning and practicing holistic health practices-centering, stretching, deep relaxation exercises, visualization, and meditation. This drop-in class offered by staff member Jim Silva will teach you how. Thursdays, 5:30-6:30 pm, St. Elizabeth Seton chapel, starting October 25.

Annual Parish Retreat for Men and Women

This time of prayer and reflection takes place on the beach in Santa Cruz at Villa Maria del Mar. Begins Friday evening, February 8, 6 p.m. until Sunday afternoon, February 10. Led by Fr. Paul Minnihan. Room for 44 people only.

Annual Parish Mission

Our mission this year will involve presentations by a woman of great renown in the area of family faith development, Kathleen Chesto. She will make her three presentations twice each day - after the 8:30 a.m. Mass at St. Augustine (about 9:20 a.m.) and at 7:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton, Monday through Wednesday, February 25, 26, and 27.
