CCOP Bible Study's exciting upcoming events!

Biblical Passages You've Always Hated
Thursday, January 14 and Thursday, January 21
, or Friday, January 15 and Friday, January 22, St. Augustine Parish Hall. This two-part lecture series covers difficult and confusing parts of the Bible and is designed to bring understanding and clarity to the Scriptures. The two Thursday talks start at 7:15 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. The encore Friday talks start at 9:15 a.m. and end at 11:00 a.m. Childcare is available on both Friday mornings.

Journeys: The Acts of the Apostles
A multi-week lecture series starts either on Thursday, January 28 or Friday, January 29, at St. Augustine Parish Hall. Discover how the early Church went from a handful of disciples to the largest religion in the world. Learn about the journeys of Peter and Paul. The study begins on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. and is repeated on Friday at 9:15 a.m. A nominal $25 donation is requested to cover the cost of materials. Childcare is available on Friday morning.

Knights of Columbus 41st Annual Crab Feed

Saturday, January 16 - 6 p.m. St. Augustine Hall. Tickets now on sale at $35 per person. Tickets available through Brad Schieferstein at (925) 846-7181 or by email. Last day to purchase tickets is Sunday, January 10. Proceeds support the Knights of Columbus' charities and ministries.

Lenten Small Groups
Saturday and Sunday, January 16-17, sign-ups after each Mass at both churches. Enrich your Easter experience by joining a small group for reflection on readings and share how passages relate to our everyday lives. Meetings are held in group members' homes once a week between the 3rd week in February and the 1st week in April. Materials and training will be provided. Forms also available at CCOP website. Cursillo Gathering Mass with Bishop Salvatore Cordileone
Sunday, January 17, 10:00 a.m. The Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland. All Cursillo communities (English-speaking, Filipino, Korean, Hispanic, Vietnamese, and Chinese) of the Diocese of Oakland are invited. Strangers No Longer: Immigration Today - An Evening Discussion
Sunday, January 17, 7:30 p.m. , St. Elizabeth Seton Chapel. Sponsored by Social Justice Committee. The evening will include a short film, a speaker knowledgeable on immigration, a panel of immigrants, and discussion.

2010 Women's Retreat
Friday through Sunday, January 29-31, San Damiano, Danville. Led by Father Mark Wiesner. Space is limited! Register at the CCOP website or use flyer in church vestibule. Cost: $200 (double), $230 (single).

Marriage Preparation

Al-Anon (Alcohol-Anonymous) Weekly Meetings
