The First Reconciliation/Eucharist preparation process is, first & foremost, family-centered, and recognizes the fact that there is no better or more effective catechist for a child than his or her parent. Children must be baptized before First Reconciliation or First Eucharist.
Participation in the Elementary Faith Formation classes or in the Intergenerational Faith Communities is a requirement for First Reconciliation/Eucharist preparation. Already baptized first through 11th grade students register in the Faith Formation of choice and the Sacrament Preparation Coordinator supplies the additional sacrament prep materials best suited to the age of the student.
