Bereavement /
Grief Support Ministry

Grief Talk

The death of a loved one is unlike any other loss. Whether the death was sudden and tragic or one with warning and preparation, the reality of death leaves most of us in a state of shock, confusion, and sadness. We invite you to participate in our Grief Support Ministry where you can heal in a safe and caring environment. Bi-monthly support group healing sessions and eight-week workshops are available.

Let us accompany you on your healing journey each second and fourth Thursday, through March 24, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Seton. The healing sessions are from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

In addition, we offer caring workshops each Spring and Fall that meet for eight consecutive weeks at St. Elizabeth Seton from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Thursdays starting April 7, 2011. The remaining workshop dates are:

  • April 14
  • April 28
  • May 5
  • May 12
  • May 19
  • May 26
  • June 2

Pre-registration is required because space is limited. A one time $15.00 donation is requested. Please call Mary at 846-5377 for any questions and for registration.

After the workshop, the bi-monthly healing sessions will resume each second and fourth Thursday, beginning June 23, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Seton. The healing sessions are from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Divorced/Separated Healing Ministry

It Need Not Hurt Forever…
There Is Life After Divorce….

Divorce and/or Separation are shattering life experiences. There are two losses: One is the loss of a person; the other the loss of the dream in which you invested -
the marriage itself.

You may:
• feel you are the only person who has this experience
• be wondering if this whole thing is just too difficult to tackle
• may feel isolated from your community

You are not alone

Come and join others who have lost a marriage and begin to build your new life again.

Marriage Care Ministry

May 29 - 31, 2009 - Married Couples: Experience a Worldwide Marriage Encounter weekend!

What makes us both truly human and truly like God? It is Love, the love of a married couple, which is unselfish, undying, and wholly directed to the good of others. It is love that unites us in an unbreakable bond of fidelity and fellowship with others. Jesus loved his own until the very end of his passion and death on the cross (John 13:1). Experience a weekend being held in Pleasanton the weekend of May 29 - 31, 2009 and discover God's meaning more fully.

For more information, call Ray & Roberta Montes @ 916.806.4601 or Joe & Sue Talarico @ 925.680.7767.

Or go to http://www.rekindleyourmarriage.org to register, on-line by May 6th.

Ministry of Mothers Sharing (MOMS)

Ministry of Mothers Sharing is an opportunity for women to develop self-esteem, relationship skills, and a more defined sense of their own spirituality at a time when they are facing the difficult challenges of raising a family.

The MOMS group is hosting a 6 week Lenten workshop on Thursdays from 7-9pm starting March 5, 2009 at St. Augustine’s Hall, Room 6. Participants are required to make a commitment to a six-week period (We will not meet during the week of Holy Week). Participating mothers need the ability to keep confidentiality, a desire to grow by sharing, and the ability to support other mothers in their personal growth.

The class consists of the following topics:

  • Self-Esteem and Self-Acceptance - what influences me at this time of my life?
  • Stress, Worries and Anxiety - learning to deal with stress productively.
  • Everyday Spirituality - relationship with self/relationship with God.
  • Feelings - constructive self-expression.
  • Personal Growth - Who am I? Where do I give and receive support?
  • Expressing Values in Friendships - defining Christian values, examining relationships.

An informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 from 7-8pm at St. Elizabeth Seton, Room B
