Hospital and Homebound Ministry This ministry serves Catholics in the hospital, group homes and homebound. Ministers to the homebound generally visit the same person weekly and give communion. This ministry serves individuals who are rehabbing and need temporary visits as well as individuals who are truly homebound for longer time periods. Ministers to the Group Homes work as a team with four or more other ministers and visit the group home about twice a month. Ministers to the hospital visit ValleyCare Hospital once a month and visit Catholic patients.
Training is provided for all of these ministries as well as opportunities to job shadow before you serve independently. The monthly time commitment is generally 3-4 hours. The most repeated comment about these ministries is “I get so much more than I give.” It is very rewarding.
