Welcome to the Social Justice and Outreach Committee web pages. We as a committee focus on the rights of individuals, families and commu- nities globally. Our central guiding principle is:
The structures and institutions of society are to serve the life, dignity and value of every human person.
Our calling is to meet societal needs through acts of charity and to work for fair laws and equitable social structures that benefit and advance the lives of those most in need. We serve God by serving others.
You can make a difference! Please follow the links on the left side of this page to stay in touch with social justice issues and opportunities to help out.
You are welcome to attend our meetings on the first Thursday of each month, September through June, 7:00 9:00 p.m., St. Elizabeth Seton, “Cry Room” west side of sanctuary.
Please write to socialjustice@catholicsofpleasanton.org to express your interests, give your ideas, or ask questions.
Whether or not you join our committee you can help out at various events and also work for a better world by gathering information from websites, email newsletters, and other sources, by joining discussions of issues and advocacy efforts, and by writing articles for our newsletter or letters to editors of local newspapers.
