2020 CENSUS
Complete Your Form Today Then remind others to complete the census too (e.g. your relatives, friends, neighbors, fellow parishioners, coworkers, hair stylist, delivery person, gardener, etc.). Why is this important? The Census sets federal funding levels for the next 10 years for EDUCATION, COMMUNITY PROGRAMS for seniors, children and families, HEALTHCARE, HOUSING, TRANSPORTATION, and more. Every person counted = $10,000 in funds. Complete online www.my2020Census.gov. If you’d like to view video instructions first, here’s a link: https://youtu.be/fXg1_1HHKzA. Or fill out the form that arrives by postal mail. Census data is confidential; your privacy is protected by law. Alameda County has been working with churches and other groups to reach out to hard-to-count populations. Several parishioners are trained as Census Ambassadors. However, since many outreach activities and sites (e.g. libraries, schools, community centers) are closed due to Covid-19 restrictions, your help spreading the Census word is especially needed. Act Now to Pass the Global Child Thrive Act
Your voice is part of a movement that is truly leading the way to a more just world! We have an important update on our collective advocacy to help children living in poverty around the world to thrive.
The Global Child Thrive Act (H.R. 4864), which would improve international programs focused on children by adding Early Childhood Development activities into programs, continues to gain support and momentum in the House of Representatives. Thanks to you and this network, there are now 46 cosponsors of the bill and growing! It’s possible a vote on the bill is coming this month. What does that mean for our action? It means... Now is the perfect time to reach out to urge your Rep. in the House to support and pass this bill. Why?
