Giving Made Easy Frequently Asked Questions QUESTION: I feel that placing my gifts in the basket is part of my weekly celebration and I do not feel comfortable passing the plate. What should I do? ANSWER: Special donation slips are available (click here) for those enrolled in the Giving Made Easy program which can be dropped in the gift basket. QUESTION: What should I do with the envelopes? ANSWER: Giving Made Easy is meant to compliment the envelope program. You will have the option to use envelopes or Giving Made Easy. For instance, you may choose to use the website to make your Regular Offering and envelopes for 2nd plate offerings. QUESTION: When can I start? ANSWER: You can start immediately by clicking on the ENROLL NOW button at the top of this page. QUESTION: Is there a fee for participating? ANSWER: There is no direct cost to you for participating. On average, the cost is approximately 3.5% to the parish. On the enrollment form, you have the option to have the fee added to your donation to help cover the costs. It would be appreciated but entirely optional. QUESTION: What can I use to prove I made the contribution? ANSWER: CCOP provides an annual letter of appreciation which summarizes your contributions. Also, your bank statement or credit card statement may act as a proof on contributions. QUESTION: What is an EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer)? ANSWER: EFT is an electronic method of making payments in which you authorize CCOP to automatically make regular transfers from your checking or savings account to CCOP. This is one of the options in the Giving Made Easy program. QUESTION: What is the difference between EFT and using a credit card for contributions? ANSWER: With EFT you are authorizing CCOP to take transfer money directly from your accounts. Credit card payments do not allow CCOP access to your banking accounts. Think of it as having CCOP pulling the money versus you pushing the money to CCOP. Also with credit cards you can take advantage of the benefits you may realize through your credit card provider. In the end, both are safe and secure and it is often a matter of preference. QUESTION: Who facilitates the transaction? ANSWER: Vanco will facilitate the transactions in a PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant website. This provides the highest level of security available. When you click on the Giving Made Easy button, you are automatically linked to the QuanComm site to complete the registration process. |
