Every Saturday at 3:00 p.m., we welcome you to come to confession in St. Augustine Church. There will be two priests there to hear your confession.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is one of the most unique and beautiful aspects of Catholicism. Jesus Christ, in His abundant love and mercy, established the Sacrament of Confession, so that we as sinners can obtain forgiveness for our sins and reconcile with God and the Church. The sacrament “washes us clean,” and renews us in Christ.
Fr. Mark made a video about the Sacrament of Reconciliation. In this video, he discusses the importance and beauty of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the role the priest plays in Confession and the generosity of God's forgiveness for us. You can watch the video below.
If you have been away from Confession for a while, don't worry! We have put together a few simple guides to assist you in preparing to receive this most important Sacrament.
An Examination Of Conscience Before celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation, one should prepare oneself with an examination of conscience, which involves reflecting prayerfully on one's thoughts, words, and deeds in order to identify any sins. This guide, based on the Corporal & Spiritual Works Of Mercy, will help you along the way.
A Step-By-Step Guide To Going To Confession This simple guide walks you through the actual process of confession with the priest. A schedule of confessors can be found below.
