Purpose
At the outset of the pandemic in March of 2020, Pope Francis said that we have an opportunity, “to choose what matters and what passes away, a time to separate what is necessary from what is not. It is a time to get our lives back on track with regard to you, Lord, and to others." Come and see what matters. RCIA is a year-round process for those seeking meaning and purpose in their lives. |
Called by God
There is no rush in the process. Together we consume the Word of God. We rely on one another and on the community for support and prayers. We learn about our faith and experience God’s love penetrating our hearts. We want to reach out to others in need. At some point the dawn of on high breaks upon us. We feel led and called by God. We find peace in knowing that God’s love is stronger than our fears. We turn to Jesus to show us what a new way of living may be like. |
Loved by God
Gradually we grow into a relationship of love that touches and engages the whole of our lives. It’s difficult to imagine the joy that the first followers had, but they were completely astounded by their encounters with the risen Jesus after he was crucified. We claim that same joy as our own and we know that our failures and our sins do not define us. Death is not the end. We are defined by God’s love. Jesus’ resurrection shows us that we are wrapped up in the web of God’s love, compassion and mercy forever. Jesus has given us the gifts of real hope and deep peace. |
The People of God
Life lived through the sacraments makes a difference. In tension, our lives hold: Selfless service with a dependency on others; encounters with those who may be different than we are and our vulnerability with others. At the center of our lives is praise and worship as an expression of deep gratitude. What we do together as the People of God does bring something of heaven to our lives on earth and helps to change the world. |
